I began consistently practicing Bikram yoga about 1 1/2 years ago and couldn’t imagine having it not be part of my life. I am currently coming to the end of my second 60 day challenge and I feel amazing. Bikram yoga has transformed my body, mind and spirit.
Last summer I broke a bone in the bottom of my foot and was out for 3 months. I found myself craving the yoga more than I ever could have imagined. I can say, because of my consistent yoga practice, it took my body quite a while to lose all that I had gained through this yoga, which definitely made it a bit less miserable.
But first and foremost, what has made this yoga so important is the sense of community that I have found through the Bikram Yoga Columbia Studio. The instructors that are there carry on the same valued energy that Kat has when she teaches. I have tried gyms and exercising on my own, but I was never able to commit or have the drive to excel in other exercise environments. Kat and Andre create an environment that has become addicting for me to be part of. They welcome every student who walks through the door and value our presence. I feel as though I am a part of a family who’s positive energy is contagious and I am able to carry that energy with me and spread it amongst my friends and family. I am so grateful for all that they have shared and given me and will be for life.
